VALO – Pirkanmaa muotoilee IX

Modus Design and Craft Association (Pirkanmaan muotoilu- ja taideteollisuusyhdistys Modus ry) was founded in 2001 in Tampere. Currently it is an association for designers, visual artists and professionals, teachers, researchers and producers of crafts. One of the main focuses of the Association is to exhibit the high professional level of its members in Pirkanmaa muotoilee exhibition series every other year. The first Pirkanmaa muotoilee exhibition was arranged in 2005. The ninth exhibition in 2025 in Gallery Saskia shows interpretations of light.

The exhibition was juried by visual artist, recycled materials in her art long using artist-pioneer Milla Neuvonen, visual artist Johanna Lonka and sculptor Anssi Taulu. The juried 16 artworks discuss the theme of the exhibition, light, from various aspects and thus traverses between design and visual arts, featuring works in textiles, leather, metal, ceramics, birch bark and elk bones.

Exhibiting artists: Paula Aikavuori, Nanna Aspholm-Flik, Behnaz Fazelian, Niina Hiltunen, Giovanna Incerti, Anni Jokinen, Anu Kirkinen, Saija Lehtonen, Aija Lundahl, Susanna Myllymäki, Sirpa Mörsky, Merianne Nebo, Sami Oikarinen, Laura Saarivuori-Eskola, Pirjo Seddiki, Pirjo Talvio-Pasanen and Jana Vyborná-Turunen.

The exhibition opening is on April 25th at 6-8 pm. 

Taidesuunnistus / open studios weekend on April 26 – 27, 2025.  During the first weekend of the exhibition the gallery is open 11 am – 5 pm. You can meet artists of the exhibition by visiting the gallery at 1 – 3 pm. About Taidesuunnistus in English.
