Jampesterin kesäpäivä, 2019. Community art.

This community art project was run in April 2019 by using both textile and community art with the personal and youth at YMCA Tampere.

Its aim was to improve the social skills of the youngsters by using textile art and creative textile methods such as weaving with a rigid heddle loom. The youngsters played an active role in the planning and implementing of the project.

After a weeks’ textile intervention and weaving, a collage was built on the wall of the community lunch room by the youngsters. Each and everyone can take their piece of the work with themselves, when they embark on their studies or work.
