Niina Hiltunen at Helsinki Habitare Fair 2018

Akustoiva taidetekstiili, Hehku

Textile designer and artist Niina Hiltunen exhibits a new, aesthetical and stylish approach to acoustic solutions at Habitare Fair on September 12-16, 2018. Niina Hiltunen has gained enthusiastic appraisals of her interior textiles as a finalist in Vuoden Artesaani / Artisan of the Year 2015 competition. In 2017 she participated in Habitare Fair as a finalist of the Design Your Pitch – Pitch Your Design event with her acoustic art textiles.

Niina Hiltunen’s art weave has a modern touch even though it has its roots deep in Finnish weaving tradition. In addition to colour and surface, Hiltunen’s art weave has an essentially different and modern, three-dimensional form providing a visual and unique experience, as light and shadow play on its surface. Hiltunen’s weave combines several shades and materials, which results in a work of art that provides visually interesting and versatile surface to explore.

Hiltunen’s work is inspired by Finnish nature, urban lifestyle, colours and forms, and, of course, the Finnish weaving and crafts tradition.

Niina Hiltunen’s unique and acoustic art textile is a stylish and aesthetical way to improve the acoustics in a space and her works of art suit both for domestic and public purposes. In the event that a greater degree of sound absorption effect is needed in a space, it is possible to combine acoustic boards with the art work.
